Custom die cutting
Custom die lines are unique shapes created by you and exclusive for your use (it's your design and no one else can use it!). You'll need to use Adobe Illustrator or Indesign to create a Vector die line with the pen tool or similar. It's not possible to create Vector graphics in Canva at the moment.
Please be aware that larger quantities and/or intricate designs may increase turnaround times for custom digitally die cut products. If your die line is unsuitable for digital die cutting one of our Customer Happiness Managers will contact you to discuss alternatives:
- Very small or intricate shapes may be too tiny for every detail to be successfully cut.
- Minimum 3mm for holes and cut outs.
- Score lines for folds are not as crisp with digital die cutting, investing in a custom traditional die will produce superior scoring.
How to set up artwork for my custom die cut shape
You can order Custom Digital die cutting for digital printing on standard thickness stocks, or Custom Traditional die cutting for double-thick (duplexed stocks), letterpress, foiling or embossing. How you create the die line is the same for either type.
