Complex Custom Shapes suitable for Laser Die Cutting only |
Simple – Designs with one continuous outer line, with minimal curves or turns. Can include drill holes for ribbon (minimum 3mm diameter) Scoring is not as crisp as Laser, and not all stocks are suitable for scoring.
Choose DIGITAL DIE CUTTING (or TRADITIONAL DIE CUTTING if you're ordering on Double-thick stocks or have Letterpress, Hot Foil or Embossed designs).
Complex – Designs with interior cutouts, multiple paths and outer line shapes made from multiple points. Scores are a 'half cut' rather than a more traditional score look and feel. Laser is only available for Single-Thickness stocks with Digital Printing.
If it took you a while to design – it’s complex! Choose LASER DIE CUTTING.

Design Tips:
- Your Custom die line must be created as vector path in a program like Illustrator or InDesign.
- Laser cutting can achieve intricate patterns and cutouts. However, try to minimise the number of ‘points’ in your die line. These can slow down the progress of the laser which can increase edge discolouration if the laser's in one place for too long. Delete unnecessary points or try ‘Simplify’ (right click on path).
-
3mm is the minimum size for holes / cut outs and space between holes.
