Using Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator is great to create concentric borders (proportionally fitting) and/or text on a die cut shape. It's especially useful for intricate or non-symmetrical shapes like our Pebble die cut shape.
To create a path for border or text on a path, select to Object > Path > Offset path.
Watch the short video below to see how easy it is to create borders on these sorts of shapes.
Using InDesign
A border around the edge of your die cut shape can be created by duplicating the die cut shape and adding a stroke to make a minimum 5mm wide border + 5mm bleed. It's not possible in InDesign currently to make a proportionally fitting border (a line border away from the edge of the shape). If you'd like a border or text on a path that follows the border - please use Illustrator instead.
