We have a range standard pockets and sleeves available (printed or unprinted) but sometimes, you may want to create a pocket/sleeve in a slightly different size, or with a unique closure or cut outs. This is absolutely possible when you can create your own custom die line!
Top Tips from the Printery Peeps
- The largest flat size your die line can be is A3.
- You need to supply us with your open/flat size pocket or sleeve including score lines and cut lines.
- Follow our instructions to set up your custom die line correctly.
- Order a sample custom die cut to test the construction, as we can't tell you if your design will work the way you intend it to.
- You can download our standard pocket and sleeve templates as a guide for artwork positions and inspiration.
- To understand pocket and sleeve construction, do some online research or deconstruct a pocket or sleeve to see how it works.
- You can digitally print including variable data just like our standard pockets or sleeves, or even letterpress, hot foil or embossing (subject to flat/open size).
- Remember to consider the cards to fit inside your custom pocket or sleeve, as these prints may need to be designed to be trimmed smaller.
- Custom die cut pockets and sleeves are supplied flat, ready for you to glue and assemble. Contact Customer Service if you'd like a quote for us to assemble them for you.
How to Order Your Custom Pocket or Sleeve
If you are only after digital printing, order the A4 or A3 printed flat card + the same size custom die cut shape (depending on the open flat size)
If after hot foil, embossing or letterpress, a traditional die line is required, this will need to be custom quoted and customer service can add the items to your cart once artwork approved.
Which die cut option should I select?
Digital die cutting is a brilliant cost-effective way to make a custom pocket or sleeve, although please note that the scoring is not quite as crisp as a physical traditional die.
Laser die cutting is a great option for custom pocket or sleeve, the scoring is a half cut in the stock making it easier to fold over and less bulky.
If you want more than 100 pieces or would like to use the die line again and again, it's probably worth investing in a traditional die.
Traditional dies are also required if you would like Letterpress, Hot Foil Press or Embossing on your custom pocket or sleeve.
Contact Customer Service if you'd like a quote for custom dies to use with Hot Foil Press or Embossing designs at this large size to check the artwork suitability.
