How long do we keep Letterpress, Foiling & Embossing Plates

Once your plates have been used to print your order we carefully wrap and store them away for a period of time for you to use again if required.

Of course, with the number of plates we use, we can’t possibly keep them forever, so we ship them off for recycling where possible (magnesium plates) or disposal (photopolymer plates) on a monthly rotating basis.

Event / General Stationery - Invitations, Save the Dates, ‘On The Day’ Stationery

3 months from the date of purchase

For example: if you purchase your plates in April they'll be recycled/disposed of at the end of July of that same year.

• If you’d like us to keep your plates for a longer period of time you to reuse (ie; you might like to use the plates used on your invites for your menus etc. ) we’re happy to do that for you. Please email us at customerservice@peterkin.com.au for instructions on what you need to do for us to keep your plates for an extended period.

Business Stationery – Business Cards, Letterheads, With Compliments Slips etc.

3 years from the date of purchase

For example: if you purchase your plates in April 2023 they'll be sent to recycling/disposal at the end of May 2026.

** Please be aware that plates don’t last forever and will only ever be good for a number of imprints as they do wear out with use. Wear will be different for each type of plate and artwork so we can’t give a definite timeframe or number of imprints before it’s worn.  Once your plates have come to the end of life we’ll send them off for recycling and therefore will need to order new plates, which will be at your cost. Of course, we'll let you know prior to charging you for new plates.**
