The quality of your images is a very important factor to consider. Our digital presses
are only capable of reproducing the quality you provide.
If your photos or illustrations look fuzzy or bitmapped on your screen - they’ll print like that too!
DPI is the measurement of how many pixels make up an image - it means Dots Per Inch.
If you download an image from the web many are unsuitable for professional printing as they're usually 72dpi (low resolution). They are compressed to be a smaller file size.
Top Tips from the Printery Peeps
- Avoid photos that have been compressed (made smaller) to send by email. Try and use the originals.
- The smaller the file size, the lower quality the image is.
- Avoid stretching or scaling images to be much larger than the original - the image quality will reduce.
- Many online programs like Canva have a wide range of images available that are suitable for printing.
- For crisp, clear print quality we ideally need images that are at least 300dpi - photos taken with a phone for instance.
