These instructions are for our Sticker / Label Standard Shapes only.
(Custom Shape and Multi Shape Sticker / Labels can only be created with Adobe Illustrator or similar software that supports Vector files, NOT bitmap files like Photoshop or Canva.)
Before you begin designing...
You MUST use our templates for our Sticker / Labels to make sure your design fits.
Don't forget to delete the template from your design, after you've finished before making the PDF.
If you're using Canva to create your Sticker / Label design, click here to see how to use our templates correctly.
Getting the format right every time
- We can only print from PDF files. Make sure your PDF is saved as high resolution or ‘print ready’.
- Please supply all artwork at the correct size. Ensure your design is in millimetres, (mm) programs like Canva default to pixels (px) which is very different!
Image quality
The quality of your images is very important. If your photos or illustrations are fuzzy or bitmapped - they’ll print like that too!
Variable data
If you have multiple names or designs on your chosen Sticker / Label shape, set them up as one per page (i.e. for 20 guest names, your PDF should be 20 pages).
Bleed... what is bleed?!
If you have text, images or background colour that goes right to the edge of your sticker design (or off the edge), then you‘ll need to extend your artwork into the bleed by 3mm. You can find relevant help on bleed here or in whichever program you’re using. (Google is pretty good too).
Safe printing area (so nothing important gets chopped off!)
Important text, graphics and borders must be in at least 5mm from the edge. This is to allow for slight movement when printing and die cutting your Sticker / Labels.
Borders
Borders are NOT recommended for your stickers. Click here to find out why.
Digital Gold and Silver
All designs to be printed either Digital Gold or Silver (you can’t combine the two) should be made in CMYK 100% black - C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100 (or #000000 in Canva).
Dos and don’ts
Peterkin Sticker / Labels are perfect to stick to items made from paper and card, they’re single use and not repositionable so take care with how you place them. If you’d like to use your Sticker / Labels on surfaces other than paper, please test as results in adhesion and removal will vary. Stickers printed on the Coated paper are also suitable for short-term / temporary use on refrigerated items like personalised wine bottles.
