Letterpress printing is a go-to traditional printing technique for invitations, business cards and for designs that really make an impression! Performed on our vintage presses using custom plates and coloured inks.
Check out our Socials to see our team in action crafting beautiful letterpress!
You can order one, two or three different colours (PMS colours) each design counts as an extra plate.
Take a look at these examples:
| 1 PMS colour letterpress (this design uses one colour requiring one plate). | 2 PMS colour letterpress (two different colours, requiring two plates - one for each colour). |
| 2 PMS colour letterpress (double sided design using the same colour requiring two plates). | 3 PMS colour letterpress (clever design where the translucent inks overlap to appear as two extra shades!) |
Good to know
- We only use Pantone uncoated inks (PMS U which stands for Pantone Matching System Uncoated). These are carefully mixed by hand.
- Pantone inks are translucent which means you must choose an ink colour darker than the card to be letterpressed. You can’t letterpress lighter colours or white on to darker stocks.
-
You can find PMS colours that match our card colours on our Paper Colours Value Chart - this is the easiest way to find a Pantone colour without a Pantone book to match to. There's over 100 colours to choose from!
