PMS (Pantone Colour Matching System) colours refer to the system used by the printing industry to print 'spot colours' that print a specific colour. Pantone colours were used extensively before digital printing was invented.
Peterkin prints digitally using 4 colours CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). We cannot print specific spot colours, so all your colour printing is made of different percentages of CMYK to get a close approximation.
But we do use Pantone inks for our letterpressing and these are specially mixed by hand!
Some of our digital printing requires you to create a spot colour which is referenced by our digital printers to use white ink, gold or silver toners. The colour of the spot colour (and the artwork in that colour) has no relevance to the colour of actual printing.
