Can I do one off Hot Foil designs to show clients?

Unfortunately that's a no...

Foiling is very different from our digital printing service, where we can offer one off sample prints. Each foil design requires magnesium plates to be made and the press expertly set for printing, massively increasing the cost. To print a one off design, you would be looking at a similar price to the cost of printing 50.
